In a word, Bilingual French is about connection... By building a community of Francophones and Francophiles, connected through language and culture, we foster a connection with each other. Whether you have a Francophone heritage or once lived in a Francophone country, or whether you learnt French at school or are learning now, Bilingual French helps develop cultural understanding, and encourages you to keep practicing and learning, so you are able to better connect with other Francophones and Francophiles.

On this website, you can find informative articles relating to language and culture. If you are looking to stay on top of your French, check out the infographics on our Instagram page. Mission
Bilingual French's primary goal is to provide a remote educational service, so that no matter the location, students can connect with a like-minded, learning community.

Purpose
COVID-19 has shown that remote learning works. Teachers and students can connect in their virtual classroom setting and learn just as well as in person (some might even say better). Moreover, by removing the geographical limitation, we create more possibilities for all. The global shift into remote learning has paved the way for more flexible, comprehensive lifestyles.

Vision
Bilingual French's plan is to grow into a worldwide network of francophones and francophiles who share a common desire to connect through language and culture. Whether we achieve this through classes or via social media platforms, we would like nothing more than for our community to help foster positive connections.

Values

Professionalism: Bilingual French's online school offers high standards for teaching. The BF team is composed of specialists in Language and Education. At the heart of our school are your teacher who is a master in their field and a rigorously trained professional. What distinguishes Bilingual French from other language schools is that your teacher is an experts in both French (FLE) and English (ESL).

Bilingualism: For a number of reasons, Bilingual French strongly believes that bilingual teachers are preferable to just native speakers; primarily, because they understand and anticipate the linguistic challenges their learns will come across and are able to help students work through these. Bilinguals are not only an example of authenticity, they are also better equipped for teaching languages.

Wellbeing: Empathetic teachers is who we are. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of creating a safe space, where students feel confident enough to take risks, have fun, make mistakes and learn. Your teacher has the interpersonal intelligence and the cultural awareness to create such an environment. Furthermore, at Bilingual French, teachers are compensated fairly to reflect their level of qualification, dedication to the profession and social impact.

Integrity: Bilingual French produces research and experience-based content. We do not post unless we believe our content to be accurate or have provided a disclaimer for potential bias. Moreover, we welcome your input as members of our community and encourage respectful discussions in the comment section.

Diversity: Bilingual French values
multiculturalism, multilingualism and diversity in all its forms. Embracing our differences and learning from each other is part and parcel to fostering a healthy society.

Bio. Michaela is what we call a Third Culture Kid, raised multilingual and multicultural in France's Burgundy region. She learned French and English simultaneously during her most formative years, with 3/4 of her education taking place in France. Her resulting bilingualism is among her biggest assets. A facette of this can be seen in her curiosity directed towards languages and cultures that has taken her to every continent, visiting 30 countries before age 30. Having spent most of her life between France and England, she has now settled in the United States, a country well-acquainted with multiculturality.
